- This suture maintains a strong tensile strength, retaining 75–78% at 14 days and 60–70% at 21 days, before safely degrading by hydrolysis within 60–90 days. For optimal visibility during surgery, Polycryl is colored violet and features a braided multifilament structure (with a 10-0 monofilament option).
- It is expertly coated with polycaprolactone calcium stearate, ensuring smooth passage through tissue with minimal drag. Each Polycryl suture is sterilized with ethylene oxide to guarantee the highest level of safety and sterility.
